What’s New at the Maryland Seafood Festival

September – This year, the Maryland Seafood Festival is excited to be adding even more elements to the event for festival-goers of all ages to enjoy…New to this year’s event is the partnership with the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation in memory of 9-11. Various Maryland agencies will feature safety demonstrations and exhibits to include K-9 accelerant and bomb squad, 40 foot “house” mobile safety center that teaches low-cost safety at home, sprinkler trailer, fire boats and more…The United States Navy Hockey Team will be out in force by volunteering their time as well as conducting teambuilding exercises on the beach. Aspiring hockey players can meet their favorite Navy player while attempting their luck at the slap shot exhibit. Be sure to check out chef, author, speaker and National Geographic Fellow, Barton Seaver, and other local chefs as they demonstrate their culinary skills in the Chef Demo Tent……Read More

 

Cowboy Mouth and Steel Magnolia to Headline 44th Annual Seafood Festival

August 18, 2011 – Organizers of the 44th Annual Maryland Seafood Festival announced today that Cowboy Mouth will be the headlining band for this year’s event, performing on the Festival’s stage at Sandy Poiknt State Park…Saturday September 10th…According to the band’s official bio, “Cowboy Mouth is New Orleans rock n’ roll. Annually presenting roughly 200 shows per year, releasing nearly a dozen records, and featured on TV shows and radio stations everywhere, Cowboy Mouth has been seen and heard by millions of fans worldwide.

In addition to the powerhouse Cowboy Mouth we have the duo of Scott Borchetta and Meghan Linsey performing as Steel Magnolia.  The pair garnered nine award nominations at last year’s CMA awards and has a new country sound that is on everyone’s watch list. Maryland Seafood Festival Supports Charities

July 5, 2011 – The 44th Annual Maryland Seafood Festival is proud to announce a number of new community non-profit groups that will enrich the festival, while benefiting the programs they serve…“The Maryland Food Bank is a proud partner of the Maryland Seafood Festival and we encourage festival attendees to bring a non-perishable food item to the event,” said Deborah Flateman, CEO of the Maryland Food Bank. “You will receive a two-dollar admission discount at the gate and have the advantage of knowing your donation will help the nearly half-a-million Marylanders in need of food assistance.”…Read More
