To date, Capital-Gazette Newspapers’ Crab Soup Cook-Off has raised over $90,000 for the Chesapeake Bay Foundation's fisheries programs.

John is the author of three award-winning cookbooks on the cuisine of Chesapeake Bay: The Chesapeake Bay Cookbook (Addison-Wesley, 1990); The Chesapeake Bay Crab Cookbook (Addison-Wesley, 1992); and Chesapeake Bay Cooking with John Shields (Broadway Books, 1998). Entry Information - Space is limited, so act today !
Open to restaurants and caterers residing in Maryland. Contestants must provide 12-14 gallons of soup; serving utensils; non-electrical heating source; serving/chafing dishes; 3 buckets for washing, rinsing and sanitizing utensils and hands; ice; and at least one attendant to serve soup.
Entry Fee: $125 donation for each soup entered. Please make check payable to the Chesapeake Bay Foundation. All entry fees collected go directly to the Chesapeake Bay Foundation.
